ュThe Philippines Supreme Court has denied a final appeal against the decision by the telecoms regulator to cancel the mobile license held by Vom Broadcasting.

The regulator, the NTC later awarded the reclaimed radio spectrum to Smart Communications, which can now continue to use them without worrying about having to hand the block back.

The NTC originally revoked Vom’s license after it found that the company had not met license conditions to operate a wireless cable and radio service. Vom has filed several appeals against the decision, eventually reaching the Supreme Court.

However, the Supreme Court not only rejected the appeal, but critisised the company for waiting five years before complaining about the decision to revoke its license.
